Europe

Europe is such a diverse and interesting continent (sorry, I’m biased 🙂 ). From sunny Spain to the romantic France and from modern Denmark to the far away Russia, your experience will vary depending on which country you’re in.

This continent is home to amazing heritage and architecture. If you’re into food, this will be your happy place too. Besides, Europe is really well connected when it comes to transportation, be it by plane, train or car, so take a seat and enjoy!

WELCOME TO Europe!

Basic facts

  • Population: 748 million
  • Currency: out of the 27 countries in the European Union, the euro (€) is the official currency in 19 of them and they are known as the Eurozone.
  • Language: Europe is so diverse that each country has its own language (there are actually more than 200)! If you speak English, you’ll be fine in most of them though.
  • Territories: as a continent, Europe includes 44 countries although only 27 belong to the European Union.
  • Best time to visit: Europe is a great destination all year round. However, most tourists flock here in the summer time, with winter being a popular season too. If you can, visit Europe in spring or fall to avoid the big crowds.
  • Fun fact: Europe is the second smallest continent in size but the third largest in population.

Things to do

SOME TIPS

As I mentioned earlier, Europe is so diverse that your travel experience will be completely different depending on where you visit. Here are a few tips to help you out:

  • Eastern countries: if you’re traveling on a budget, this is a cheap destination featuring locations such as Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania or Russia.
  • Mediterranean countries: located in Southern Europe, they are known for being a touristy spot thanks to their openness, sunny weather and beautiful beaches. This list of countries includes France, Greece, Italy, Monaco, Portugal or Spain!
  • Nordic countries: on the opposite side, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway or Sweden are famous for their Northern lights, stunning nature and breathtaking landscapes.
  • Western countries: including places like Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland or the UK, this part of Europe features the iconic Alps and is full of history and beautiful castles.

  • The continent is a great destination all year round.
