A weekend getaway to Locarno, Ascona & Zermatt
This weekend getaway felt like traveling to two countries. However we only stayed in Switzerland! How is this even possible? Keep reading to discover it.
Red Cross Museum, Jonction and Carouge
We finally went to a museum in Geneva! After coming from DC, where most museums are free, it felt weird not to visit a single museum since I moved here.
From Montreux to Interlaken on board of the Goldenpass Railway
This Sunday we boarded on an unforgettable train journey from Montreux to Interlaken on board of the vintage Goldenpass Railway. We enjoyed a panoramic view of lake Léman, the imposing mountains and the charming Swiss villages along the way.
A daytrip to Lausanne & the Lavaux Vineyard Terraces
We spent a wonderful Saturday having wine with friends in an area by lake Léman close to Lausanne known as the Lavaux Vineyard Terraces. The weather was lovely and this was the best way to say good bye to summer.
‘Désalpe’ in Les Charbonnières & Romainmôtier
Bonn & Köln
I was twice in Bonn and Köln this year, the first one in September and the second one in November.
Former capital until 1991, Bonn is a city in western Germany straddling the Rhine river. It’s known for the Beethoven House, its Münster (a church with a Romanesque cloister and Gothic elements), the old city hall and Poppelsdorf Palace. It also houses a UN Campus with 20 organizations ranging from climate change to volunteerism.
Back home in September (part 3): ‘fiestas’ in Fuenterrabía
Every time I go back home I try to stop by Fuenterrabía, and this time around was no exception.
This fishing village is one of the most beautiful in the Basque Country and the food is delicious! Besides, the village celebrated its yearly Alarde while I was there at the beginning of September.
Back home in September (part 2): Hendaye, Ciboure, Biarritz
While we were back home, I took the opportunity to show my boyfriend around some places he didn't know yet.
This time we went to Hendaye, Socoa (in Ciboure) and Biarritz, some of my favorite spots in the French Basque Country.
Back home in September (part 1): from San Sebastián to Pasajes
It was great to be back home for some birthday celebrations including my own. As you will see in the next few posts, the stay was short but intense!
Our latest foodie creations
We're having a good time in Geneva this summer. The weather is being very nice and sunny (occasionally extremely hot) and we're enjoying having breakfast and dinner in our balcony.
