Each year, on the first Saturday in December, the most popular sporting event in Geneva takes place in the old town : the Escalade Race. This event is for everyone - famous international runners to beginners, children and adults alike. Some people even dress up! Distances run vary from 2kms to 8 kms depending on the category All the races take place in the narrow streets of the old town and finish in the Bastion Park.
A couple of Spanish friends came to Geneva to pay me a visit and we spent a very busy weekend full of activities around the city. In addition to strolling around Geneva, I invited them to the United Nations headquarters, where an Open Day took place. We also visited the famous Chillon castle on lake Léman and the Olympic city of Lausanne.
As I've told you in previous posts, we've been recently exploring Geneva and its surroundings quite a lot. We've enjoyed summer in the city, although the sunny weather is now coming to an end. Let me show you my favorite spots so far!
It's only been two weeks since I moved to Geneva and I am enjoying summer here. Life is been quite hectic as I started a new job, I'm adapting to the city and I'm looking for an apartment. Let me tell you about my first impressions of this Swiss city!
