As 2025 comes to an end, I’ve been looking back at a year that felt intense, grounding, and deeply meaningful. While I didn’t travel as far as in previous years, the trips I took these last twelve months felt more intentional: a mix of slow travel close to home, family road trips, reunions with friends, and a few unforgettable adventures abroad. From Morocco and the Austrian Alps to London, Spain and the French Atlantic coast, this 2025 travel year in review reflects where I went, what I experienced, and how travel shaped my year — both on the road and at home. My 2024 trips: a year in review
Another year is about to go by, and it's time to reflect on the destinations that I visited this year, and to start dreaming about the ones I'll be exploring in 2025. Camino de Santiago: hiking from Irún to Deba along the ‘Camino del Norte’
For centuries, the 'Camino de Santiago' has been a captivating experience for people taking on this pilgrimage route. During three days this summer, I had the chance of joining some friends along the first stages of the Camino del Norte, from Irún to Deba. Around the Irún area with my in-laws
After visiting Córdoba and Priego de Córdoba with my in-laws and some family friends, we all came to Irún, my hometown in the Basque Country. We spent a few days here altogether, enjoying great food and sightseeing lovely places such as Getaria, Zumaia, San Sebastián, Lesaka or Hendaye. Curious to know all there is to see in this area?
Back home for Christmas
It's Christmas time already and we're about to move on to a new decade, so exciting! I spent a few days back home, unwinding, eating a lot of delicious food and spending some quality time with my beloved ones.
