I spent this past weekend in Belgium visiting a bunch of good friends in Brussels and Leuven. Curious to know what I did and where I went? Follow me then!

Soon after I landed in the Zaventem airport on Friday night, I met with my friends and we went to the Flagey neighborhood to grab a beer at the Black Sheep.

During our Sunday stroll around the city center of Brussels, we ate at a brasserie called Fin de siècle and we sightsaw the usual suspects:

  • Grand Place
  • Manneken Pis
  • the Royal Palace (Palais Royal)
  • the Justice Hall (Palais de Justice)

On Saturday, we took the train to Leuven, a city east of Brussels that I discovered (and loved) when I lived in the European capital back in 2012. We enjoyed walking around its cobbled streets and admiring buildings such as the Town Hall (Historisch Stadhuis), the University Library (Universiteitsbibliotheek) or the Great Beguinage (Groot Begijnhof), my personal favorite. We had lunch at a nearby restaurant called Ellis Gourmet Burger, where I ate their blue cheese madness burger.
