After almost four years living in the USA, I had never had the chance to visit Atlanta until recently. I had been in Georgia before during my first road trip in this country (check it out here), but not to Atlanta yet…
So I went to Atlanta to catch up with my friend Luis, who is also from Irún and a family friend. We spent a wonderful weekend at his place in Virginia Highlands and around the city.
What to see in Atlanta
On Friday, I explored Atlanta´s Olympic legacy following the Summer Games in 1996. I also visited several museums: the CNN studios, the World of Coca Cola and MLK’s historic site in the Sweet Auburn district. On Saturday, we met the Spanish crowd at Luis’ place before heading to the Midtown Festival taking place in Piedmont Park, where we had lots of fun watching Berk, 21 Pilots and some other bands. On Sunday we went for breakfast and brunch, stopped by the Festival for a short bit because of the rain and headed back to DC.
PS: I was told next time I should go to Clermont Lounge, a fun strip club!
