Red Cross Museum, Jonction and Carouge
We finally went to a museum in Geneva! After coming from DC, where most museums are free, it felt weird not to visit a single museum since I moved here.
We visited the Red Cross Museum on Saturday, where the Exil exhibit was on display. We enjoyed it very much, especially the many pictures showing human suffering when people are on the move for any reason, be it war or climate change. Around 300 photographies from the Magnum Photos archives, ranging from the Spanish war to the recent Syrian conflict, were presented on wooden blocks which could be grabbed by the visitors.
Following the visit, we rode to Jonction, where the rivers Arve and Rhône meet. The view is breathtaking because of the striking colors. We then went up to the Café de La Tour, a traditional house in the middle of the Bâtie forest. Finally, we headed to Carouge for a Girasol cocktail at the bar Le Qu’Importe.
