View of Magdalen College from the Water Meadow

This weekend I traveled to Oxford to celebrate the end of my boyfriend’s Master’s. We attended a ball with his friends, watched Henry and Meghan’s Royal wedding  and enjoyed the rare sunny weather! This was a great way to end his stay in Oxford.

Upon arrival on Friday, we went to our favorite Thai restaurant in town (see trip details below). Actually, since this was going to be our last weekend in Oxford for a while, we went to all the restaurants we love!

On Saturday morning, I went to Linacre College to give a hand as a volunteer to help prepping everything for the ball that would take place there that night. While I was doing so, I had some time to watch bits and pieces of the Royal wedding. In the evening we attended the party and we had a blast celebrating with other friends!

On Sunday, the weather was gorgeous: warm and sunny. We decided to go for a long walk starting next to Magdalen College and along the Water Meadow. We ended up in the grounds behind Linacre College!

On Monday, it was all about packing since my boyfriend had to leave his room in Christ Church. It took us the whole morning to get it done and then it was time to go to the airport!

We’ll be back in Oxford for my boyfriend’s graduation in November, so stay tuned!

Transport

As usual upon arrival to Heathrow airport, I headed to the bus terminal where I caught a bus by The Airline to Oxford.

Restaurants:

*Thaikhun:  this has become our go-to place when it comes to Thai food. The atmosphere is fun and colorful and the dishes and beers are delicious.

*Jericho Coffee Traders: we grabbed a piece of cake and some tea to go before heading to the party prep. Love this place so much!

*Comptoir Libanais: this is our favorite Lebanese restaurant in terms of both food and decor. Worth a visit or in case you’re having the Middle Eastern blues!

*Fernando’s Café: this Brazilian restaurant by the Carfax Tower is a must if you’re a meat lover. Try their picanha (best thing ever), thank me later!

*The Varsity Club: great spot to enjoy rooftop views with some beers!

*Buongiorno e buonasera: this Italian restaurant close to the bus station, features yummy pizzas not to be missed!
