A goose by the Thames river

I was in Oxford again this weekend to visit my boyfriend. Some of his friends came from London too and we had a blast with their kids!

Day 1 (Saturday)

On Saturday morning, we went to the train station to welcome Esteban’s friends. We then accompanied them to their cute bed and breakfast. After that, we strolled around the Christ Church Meadow, the Covered Market and visited the main landmarks in Oxford.

Day 2 (Sunday)

On Sunday, we climbed to the promontory next to the Oxford Castle and finished off the day at the rooftop of the Westgate Mall.

Trip details

Transport

Upon arrival to Heathrow airport, I headed to the bus terminal where I caught a bus by The Airline to Oxford.

Pubs & restaurants:

*Jericho Coffee Traders: in case you have a serious sweet tooth, which I do, this is your place in Oxford. We had a lovely breakfast here featuring one of their amazing cakes.

*Silvie:  our friends were staying at this place, which includes a cafeteria and bedrooms upstairs (Browns). I loved the cozy atmosphere here. Definitely coming back for a piece of cake!

*Turf Tavern:  this is a popular but well-hidden historic pub in central Oxford popular with locals, university scholars and tourists alike.  Its foundations and use as a malt house and drinking tavern date back to 1381.  The previous time I came, we only had a beer but now we had lunch too (I had a yummy pie).

*Christ Church: we had a beer at the Buttery before heading to the Dining Hall next door.
