We spent a wonderful Saturday having wine with friends in an area by lake Léman close to Lausanne known as the Lavaux Vineyard Terraces. The weather was lovely and this was the best way to say good bye to summer.
We experienced a truly Swiss experience this weekend!
Thanks to the International Geneva Welcome Centre (CAGI) we visited the villages of Les Charbonnières and Romainmôtier, in the neighboring canton of Vaud.

A couple of Spanish friends came to Geneva to pay me a visit and we spent a very busy weekend full of activities around the city. In addition to strolling around Geneva, I invited them to the United Nations headquarters, where an Open Day took place. I’m slowly adapting to my new life here in Geneva. Besides, it’s been great to have some of my best friends coming to pay a visit in order to start exploring a bit outside of Geneva.
Last Friday afternoon we took the train from Geneva to Zurich. It took us almost 3 hours to get there but the ride, which went by the lake for a while, was very pleasant. The arrival to Zurich’s Hauptbahnhof and the sight of the Landesmuseum (the Swiss National Museum) next to it were impressive too.
